School-Based Therapist

 

Mark Twain Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time School-Based Therapist for our Hannibal Missouri service area.  Consider joining our MTBH Team!  We offer a supportive culture of appreciation and a strong emphasis on the health and wellbeing of our team.

 Role Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to youth and their families in a school-based setting
  • Maintain clinical record according to certification standards
  • Provide in-home contacts as needed
  • Provide consultation and education services to local schools and resource officers
  • Participate in clinical supervision, clinical case staff meetings, in-service training , CAASP/SOC programs, and school-based meetings
  • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with local schools
  • Maintain a professional code of ethics at all time
  • Rotate the Access Crisis Intervention (ACI) on-call week with other qualified mental health professionals.

 Adherence to the MTBH Ethical Code of Conduct and all policies is required.

 Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology
  • Licensed in the state of Missouri or licensed-eligible
  • Knowledge of alcohol and drug addictions in adolescent population preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preferred

Community Support Specialist - Youth

 

Mark Twain Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Community Support Specialist for our youth team in our Kirksville Missouri location.  This position will service the Scotland and Clark County areas.  Consider joining our MTBH Team!  We offer a supportive culture of appreciation and a strong emphasis on the health and wellbeing of our team.

 Role Responsibilities

  • Assist children whose behavior, school progress, or mental or physical handicap or condition indicates need for such assistance
  • Teach community living skills
  • Arrange and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings on behalf of assigned clients
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems and effect solution
  • Serve as a resource to school personnel
  • Serve as a liaison between student, home, school and community resources
  • Maintain clinical records to comply with program standards and in accordance with agency policy
  • Contribute to development of treatment planning
  • Arrange for medical, psychiatric, and other tests and examinations that may disclose causes of difficulties and indicate remedial measures
  • Represent MTBH in the community by attendance at local interagency teams as assigned
  • Behave in professional and courteous manner
  • Adhere to client rights and confidentiality requirements

 Adherence to the MTBH Ethical Code of Conduct and all policies is required.

Reliable transportation, current driver’s license and willingness to travel is required.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field or four years of equivalent experience with consumers and their families receiving psychiatric, substance abuse, developmental disabilities services or Registered Nursing license with at least two years of fulltime equivalent psychiatric experience with children
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid Certification
  • Medication Aide, Level I Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with youth preferred
