Mark Twain Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time COMMUNITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH LIAISON for our KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI service region to include Clark, Schuyler, and Scotland counties (1st Judicial Circuit).  Consider joining our MTBH Team!  This full-time salaried position offers competitive pay and full benefits.  We offer a supportive culture of appreciation and a strong emphasis on the health and well-being of our team.

The primary focus of this position is to support courts and jails.  The main objective of the Community Behavioral Health Liaison is to assist the courts and jails in addressing the behavioral health issues of those who come to the attention of the justice system. This is a full-time exempt position that is hybrid and requires participation in providing Mobile Crisis Response Services. Employees have the flexibility to self-schedule CBHL duties to ultimately meet the high-demand needs of the consumers and concurrently incorporate added after-hours on-call duties to support that team. 

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Establish ongoing relationships with community stakeholders
  • Provide consultation on behavioral health issues for law enforcement, local courts, and jail personnel
  • Collaborate and coordinate services with designated agencies for individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Assist those referred by law enforcement or courts with behavioral health needs in accessing appropriate services
  • Coordinate services with local systems of care of individuals with behavioral health needs who have come to the attention of law enforcement officials, the courts, and jails
  • Coordinate with local crisis response resources
  • Participate in and assist law enforcement in developing Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) to assist law enforcement in working with individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Provide support and referral to care for first responders to assist in coping with stress and/or trauma to promote first responder wellness and family wellbeing
  • Provide, coordinate, and announce trainings to people in your catchment area to increase awareness about behavioral health issues
  • Attend MO CIT annual conference, all CBHL meetings and trainings coordinated by Missouri Behavioral Health Council (MBHC) and Department of Mental Health (DMH)
  • Collect required data and submit reports in alignment with Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) direction
  • Complete monthly report of Liaison activities, client data, barriers and success stories
  • Adhere to all client rights, including confidentiality.

Adherence to the MTBH Ethical Code of Conduct and all policies is required.

Current driver's license is required.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field such as Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology 
  • Prefer at least two (2) years experience in the field of behavioral health and/or children's protective services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of alcohol and drug addiction OR Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor
