The MTBH Experience

Your Journey Starts Here

We are here to help.

The first step in beginning services with MTBH is to complete our intake process.  This will be similar to other medical appointments and will take between 15-30 minutes.  You can complete this process over the phone or by stopping into one of our three locations.

Please have available the following items for your intake:

  •   Your personal information (address, phone number, social security number)
  •   Driver’s License or State Identification Card
  •   Your Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance cards
  •   A list of all medications you are currently taking
  •   If you have received any mental health services in the past, bring the name and contact information
  •   If you have been referred to us, the name of the referral source and contact information

If you don’t have the information listed above, please don’t let this stop you from attending this first appointment. We will help you obtain what is needed.

Your Journey Begins

On-site intake appointments will take place in a private office.  You will meet with our intake coordinator who will work with you to determine what brings you to MTBH. He or she will also ask you to talk about any symptoms you have experienced (mood swings, difficulty sleeping, feeling sad, etc.). Those completed over the phone will be asked the same questions by our intake coordinator.

Once completed, our intake coordinator will help connect you with the appropriate treatment provider to complete a screening and determine your specific needs.

Your Journey Continues

When you arrive for your first visit, you will be oriented to Mark Twain Behavioral Health and complete the enrollment process.

Your first visit with your provider will include an overview of services orientation and a screening.  Based on your individual needs, we will work with you to design your plan of care, complete with the program we have designed for your care.  As your journey is your own it will be specific to you only.

If for any reason you need to reschedule an appointment, please call the respective office location.
